My name is Rachel and I've spent my whole life in the celebrity-laden NYC and, to everyone's surprise, I have not yet been arrested. Not even once! I think my slow descent into obsession began when I was a wee tyke and my parents took us to see the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall. My mother always tells everyone that I came home with stars in my eyes. Like every little girl with a Barbra Streisand loving father, I dreamed of playing Little Orphan Annie or perhaps one of the von Trapp children. When I was a young teenager, Andrea McArdle (the original Annie on Broadway) took over the role of Belle in "Beauty and the Beast" and due to my diminutive size and spitfire of a personality, I somehow found myself in her dressing room with my friends Princess and Mandi. Thus began a long and rather expensive celebrity love affair that has taken us to Philly, Atlantic City, and New Hope (thus far). Alas, even a street-wise NYC kid such as myself is not resilient to the charms of the Wild West and a four hour line at Barnes and Noble led me to be face-to-face with Jane Seymour (Dr. Quinn herself). One tearful crying session later had me begging to be allowed to go to LA to celebrate her receiving her star on the Walk of Fame. The fans had some leftover money and were throwing a four day party in La-La Land for her and the cast of the series. So $750 later, I was missing sophomore year of high school to be in California with my aforementioned Barbra Streisand loving father and my best friend. Thus set forward a decade's worth of slyly following celebrities around NY, ducking behind bushes, carefully manipulating binoculars, and waiting at stagedoors.
So this site, celebliaison.com, is mainly a vanity project for myself but it is also for the reading pleasure of the legions of fans that I am certain to develop. I'm not sure yet what it's going to develop into. Perhaps one day people will come here for advice on how to meet their favorite celebrities or for anecdotes on how people they hate have behaved in public. All I do know is that there are similarly crazy people out there in this universe (and we are not stalkers - we are people with a devotion to the arts) and hopefully celebliaison.com will become a place where those of us with similar interests can bond without depending on the tabloids.
